At Hearts & Hands United, our mission is to walk alongside families who are struggling to keep their homes, lights, and daily necessities secure. We know the burden of bills can feel overwhelming—and that is where we step in with compassion, prayer, and practical support.
How the Process Works
The journey begins when you apply for assistance. Families start by submitting an application along with documentation of resources they have already explored, including county, township, or other community relief programs.
Once you have exhausted other options, you may submit a request for us to review your situation. Our team will reach out to your provider directly to negotiate, attempt to lower the balance, and arrange payment. Support is provided within limits to ensure fairness and allow us to continue serving as many families as possible. Each household is eligible for a limited number of assistance opportunities per year.
Who We Help First
Because our resources are community-supported, we follow an order of priority to make sure the most vulnerable are cared for first. Families with infants receive first priority, followed by families with young children, then families with older children and teens, and finally all other households in need.
What We Offer Now
Currently, we provide emergency assistance with utilities including electric, gas, and water. We offer rent or housing support when possible. All payments are made directly to utility or housing providers on your behalf.
What We Hope to Offer in the Future
As we grow, we plan to provide broader housing support including temporary shelter. We hope to help with groceries and household needs, offer long-term family mentoring and financial education, and develop programs designed specifically for youth and young adults.
A Community-Supported Mission
This work is made possible solely through the generosity of our community. Because of this, available funds can sometimes be limited. To help keep this mission alive, we ask that when we are able to help your family, you prayerfully consider paying it forward—by volunteering, donating, or giving back in whatever way you can.
Together, we can make our community a stronger, brighter place for everyone.
